The federal government is testing the waters of the private sector to fill a historic downtown Windsor building.
A request for information has been listed by Public Works and Government Services Canada to gauge private sector interest in the federally owned Paul Martin building. According to the listing, the feds are looking to sell the building or lease available space.
An Industry Engagement Day is scheduled for June 19 at the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation.
The building has been in need of repair for quite some time. In fact, Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis previously estimated the cost to bring the building up to snuff to be $15 million.
The request for information also looks to gauge private interest in leasing space to the federal employees who currently occupy the building.
