The federal government will pay to repair the Paul Martin Building, a source has confirmed to CTV News on Thursday.

The source says thie means it will be spared from the wrecking ball.

The building has been an eye-sore for years, surrounded by scaffolding. It is also partially covered by a black protective sheath.
