A 34-year-old LaSalle woman is facing charges after Canada Border Services Agency officers seized three loaded guns and two prohibited ammunition magazines at the Ambassador Bridge.

Windsor police charged her with 19 criminal code charges related to the firearms.

The woman was referred to secondary inspection after arriving at the bridge on Sunday.

Border services officers say they found three undeclared loaded nine-millimetre firearms and two prohibited high-capacity ammunition magazines in her vehicle.

"This is the direct result of the diligent work of CBSA officers who use their examination skills, as well as overall training, to detect smuggling attempts,”says Rick Comerford, regional director general for southern Ontario.

CBSA criminal investigations charged the woman with making false statements, possession of unlawfully imported goods and smuggling.
