A man was sent to hospital with broken ribs and cuts to his forehead after a violent robbery Wednesday morning.
Police responded to an apartment in the area of Ouellette Avenue and Ellis Street around 11:45 a.m., where two workers were renovating the unit.
The 41-year-old victim told police that five men entered the apartment and allegedly beat him with a bar stool and crowbar.
Police say the suspects accused the victim of stealing their property.
Before the suspects fled the scene, officers say they took the victim’s cell phone.
