A tentative agreement is expected to bring labour peace for the Amherstburg bottler of Crown Royal.

The 261 workers represented by Unifor Local 2098 had been in a legal strike position as of 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.

However, marathon bargaining continued until a tentative agreement was reached in the evening.

According to the local president, D.J. Lacey the two sides met in the middle.

He says the union was able to win a measure of job security.

The bargaining committee is unanimously endorsing the deal.

A ratification meeting will be held at the Macedonian Centre at Howard on Sunday 10:00 a.m.
