Many turn to music to express feelings.

One young woman is using her life experiences to inspire others.

Mackenzie Caradonna was born 13 weeks premature -- weighing only 1 pound 15 ounces.

At 6 months, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

"Every time she went to the hospital it was a life and death situation, and we were just praying that all we would ever have to do again are to deal with the physical problems," says Laura Caradonna, Mackenzie's mother.

But she says it's those struggles that have made her daughter who she is today.

At the age of 10, Mackenzie finally convinced her mother to let her take singing lessons.

Kerri Brown has been her vocal coach ever since.

"Every single time, she picks a song that is going to make people think. She never leaves a dry eye in the audience," says Brown.

Mackenzie wanted to use her love of song to make a difference in the lives of others.

"I've been inspired by many people in my life. I wanted to inspire others to follow their dreams like I am following mine," says Mackenzie.

Her first single is called "Different."

"Being different is not only awesome but necessary. And she's different and it's cool. We wanted to share that with other who may be feeling the same way," says Brown.

Thanks to her supporters Mackenzie was able to record "Different" in studio.

"I was breaking down in shock, because I didn't know it was going to be that elaborate," says Mackenzie.

The song is now used as part of an anti-bullying campaign at Villanova High School.

"Bullying is not a good influence on others and it shouldn't be continuing in our generation," she says.

It's a message she hopes others will follow.

"I have an irreplaceable life, and no one should ever take advantage of that," she adds.
