The Windsor Police Service has joined a national campaign encouraging people to stop using a specific word.

The "yellowcard" campaign is part of an anti-bullying initiative meant to raise awareness of the negative use of the "R" word.

People are encouraged to sign a pledge to end the use of the term in everyday conversation.

Windsor police Chief Al Frederick and mayor Drew Dilkens signed the pledge this morning.

A yellow card is being used because of the yellow card in soccer which is given as a warning when a player’s behaviour is not acceptable.
