A well-known Windsor lawyer has died in South Africa.
Don Tait passed away this week at the age of 76.
Tait was retired, but working as an addictions counsellor for the past 15 years in South Africa.
His death was the result of complications from surgery following a car crash, according to Veronique Mandal, who recently penned a biography about the notorious lawyer.
Mandal tells CTV Windsor his story is one of peaks and valleys, but ultimately ended with redemption.
"He became a man who cared deeply for humans on a very different level than he did as a lawyer and wanting to get them off and get lots of money out of them,” Mandal says. “He became a very spiritual man and a man who believed that it was possible to help the people who had reached the abyss, like himself."
