Windsor is one of the unhappiest cities in the country, according to a Statistics Canada survey.

The survey shows Windsor had an average rating of 7.8 – which is the third lowest rating. Toronto and Vancouver were rated slightly lower.

The highest life satisfaction went to the people in Saguenay, Que., with an 8.2 rating.

The study was based on a pooled sample of almost 340,000 survey respondents aged 15 or older, who live in one of the 10 provinces. It was done between 2009 and 2013.

Respondents were asked “Using a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 means "Very dissatisfied" and 10 means "Very satisfied,” how do you feel about your life as a whole right now?”

Stats Can says individual-level characteristics such as age, employment status and health status have been shown to impact life satisfaction.
