Two people are in Windsor police custody, following a break and enter at an east end home.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Homedale Boulevard around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, after a witness noticed a suspicious male and female outside a neighbour’s house.

A K9 unit attended the scene, finding the rear door open and a window smashed. As soon as the officer announced that the dog would be released, the male suspect exited the residence and surrendered himself over to police.

Through their investigation, officers were able to locate a female suspect at an apartment building in the 6300 block of Wyandotte Street East. Police say a search of the apartment turned up several stolen items including jewelry and a desktop computer.

A 54-year-old Windsor man and a 57-year-old Windsor woman is charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property.

They have both been released from custody on the promise to appear in court in July.
