A catchy, memorable and fun name is wanted for Windsor’s newest water park.

The City of Windsor and Windsor Family Credit Union have launched the Name the Water Park contest.

The brand new tropical-themed facility is set to open later this year in the $78-million family aquatic complex.

Entries will be accepted until Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m. and can be submitted by phoning 311, entering online at www.citywindsor.ca or filling out an entry form at any WFCU retail location or City of Windsor Customer Care Centre.

Submissions should include a short description of what the suggested name means and/or what inspired it in 50 words or less and the entrant’s name, e-mail, phone number and home address.

A panel of judges from the city and the WFCU Centre will choose the winning entry. The grand prize will be a party at the water park for up to 50 guests.

Those interested must be 18 years of age or older or be able to provide parental consent if under 18.

The city announced in August, the competitive side of the facility will officially be known as The Windsor International Aquatic Centre presented by the Windsor Family Credit Union.

The entire project is expected to be complete early next year.
