More than 20 staff at Leamington Memorial Hospital have been given layoff notices.
A hospital spokesperson confirms to CTV Windsor on Wednesday, that nurses and personal support workers are those affected by the layoffs.
Bill Baker says the notices were issued because funding for a program meant to help frail patients with rehabilitation is ending in December.
Baker says there's no word on what will happen to the patients who depend on the program. However, the hospital board is waiting for a report later this month on the services the community would like see.
