A new out-patient cardiac clinic officially opened at Windsor Regional Hospital's Ouellette Campus on Wednesday.
The satellite location has been about four years in the making.
Windsor-Essex patients can now stay at home for cardiac appointments, saving them the trip to London for everything except for surgery.
“Not only tedious and burdensome but you already have the stress of surgery ahead of you. You don't want to have the added stress of all that travel and know you need to get a number of new investigations at that centre," said Dr. Roland Mikhail.
The clinic is only for people who require pre-operation and post-op care. This is not a walk-in clinic.
