Windsor police are looking for a suspect after a teen was startled in an afternoon home break-in.

Officers were called to a house in the 3900 block of Whitney Avenue on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

A 17-year-old girl says she heard some noises inside her residence.  Police say she came out from the bathroom to find an unknown male inside her house and the suspect quickly left after seeing her.

Officers spoke to the girl, who was visibly upset.

She said that her parents just left the house and she was in the bathroom.  She heard noises but initially thought it was a family member who forgot something.

She came out, felt cold and then noticed their kitchen window was wide open.

When she went to the stairwell she saw a male going down the stairs to the front door.  He turned briefly and then quickly left out the front door.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18-22 years old, 5'8, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, grey sweatshirt with white stripes, black baseball hat, and carrying a grey backpack.
