Former Windsor Spitfire Ben Johnson has been found not guilty of sexual assault.

Johnson was accused of assaulting a young woman in the washroom at The Krooked Kilt.

“He's obviously very pleased with judgment," says his lawyer Evan Weber.

Ontario court Justice Micheline Rawlins delivered the ruling in a Windsor courtroom on Thursday.

“Credible evidence is a fragile thing,” said Rawlins in court. “Critical evidence must be placed under a microscope.”

Rawlins says she also believes the female witness who testified, saying she had no axe to grind and no motive to alter evidence.

The judge says Johnson minimized the amount of alcohol he consumed. She says he was clearly feeling the effects of alcohol.
