Ford City Neighbourhood Renewal has launched a campaign asking residents to write on stickers wishing for what they want for vacant stores.

The group hopes the “I Wish This Was” campaign will get the community talking about dreams for the neighbourhood.

There are three vacant storefronts and one vacant lot in the 1000 block of Drouillard Road that have stickers on them that say ‘I Wish This Was’.

Each location includes pens for people to write on the stickers.

“People living in and visiting the neighbourhood will be given the opportunity to share what they want to see in the business corridor of Ford City,” says organizer T.J. Auer. “Feedback from the stickers will help inform the Ford City Business Improvement Association’s business outreach.”

After the first day of the campaign more stickers were posted to accommodate the overwhelming response.

“People rarely get an opportunity to identify what they want to see in their community and what businesses they would visit, so we are very excited to create that opportunity in Ford City,” says Auer.
