Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
The weather agency warns of strong winds entering the region Friday ahead of a snow system. Wind speeds are forecast to reach 40 to 60 km/h with the potential for 80 km/h gusts.
Environment Canada says 5 to 10cm of snow is expected to fall Saturday.
Blowing snow is also a concern on area highways.
