Windsor fire investigators say an early morning blaze on Assumption Street was intentionally set.

Firefighters were called to 655 Assumption St. for a report of a structure fire at a duplex on Monday, around 3 a.m. Crews were quick to get the upper hand on the blaze – extinguishing it a short time after arriving.

The upper portion of the duplex was occupied at the time of the fire, but the lower half was vacant.

Members of the Windsor police arson unit attended the scene and have determined that the fire was intentionally set. There have been eight suspicious fires in the city since Oct. 17.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
