A bill that could see people having greater access to palliative care passed second reading in the Ontario legislature Thursday.

Windsor West MPP Lisa Gretzky's bill, also known as Dan's Law was named after Windsor man, Dan Duma.

He died this past summer.

Duma was diagnosed with cancer but couldn't get home care after he moved from Alberta back home to Ontario.

Gretzky says she hopes to eliminate the waiting time it takes for a patient to get home care after moving to Ontario from another province.

The bill will now go for further review.
