Caesars Windsor handed out layoff notices to 38 unionized employees.

The layoffs impacted 30 full time and eight part time staff, offset by four part time postings. The employees are from the Food and Beverage, Culinary and Resort Operations departments.

“Staff reductions are always a difficult decision for any business to make,” says Kevin Laforet, president and CEO of Caesars Windsor. “Business trends are optimistic, but we continue to have the obligation to find efficiencies in the business.

Laforet says increased competition in Ohio, border issues, the smoking ban and exchange rate continue to be ongoing challenges for the casino.
