A mosquito pool in Windsor-Essex has tested positive for West Nile Virus.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit says it is the first such positive test for the area this year.
West Nile Virus is a potentially serious infection to humans and is carried by certain types of mosquitoes.
To date, no human cases of West Nile Virus have been identified in Windsor-Essex County.
Residents are asked to eliminate any standing water and take personal protective measures to avoid mosquito bites.
