A Windsor councillor has a plan to help prevent arsons in Walkerville.
Ward 4’s Chris Holt says he wants to meet with the Walkerville Business Improvement Association, as well as police and firefighers, to discuss arson prevention.
There have been several deliberately set fires in the neighbourhood in the past few months. Most recently, there was a suspected arson at May Court bargain shop on Wyandotte Street last week.
Holt says he wants to “initiate dialogue” with all community partners, starting with residents and business owners.
"We can look after one another and that's really what makes a successful neighbourhood - that cooperation. And that's something we do have in Ward 4. But let’s ramp it up a little bit. Let's look out for one another,” he says.
