The driver of a transport truck that collided with a cyclist in Lambton County has been charged in connection with the incident.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, a northbound Mack transport truck collided with a cyclist on Forest Road in the area of Hickory Creek Line south of Forest.

The cyclist, 18-year-old Taylor Jackson of Warwick Township remains in hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Forest Road was closed to traffic for several hours as police investigated.

On Monday, Lambton OPP charged the truck driver, 61-year-old Milinko Milinkovic of Ethel, Ont., with having defective brakes on a commercial motor vehicle.
