Three people have been arrested after a group allegedly sought retribution for the robbery of a friend.

A Windsor police officer on routine patrol in the 1000 block of Wyandotte Street East on Sunday morning encountered a woman sitting on the ground with minor cuts to her hands.

The woman informed the officer that she was robbed, but didn’t want to cooperate with the investigation.

Shortly after, officers were called to the 500 block of Louis Avenue for a report of violence. Officers spoke with a woman there, who claimed she was assaulted by a group “looking for retribution” for the victim of the earlier reported robbery.

While speaking with the woman, the two suspects in the assault were found in a silver vehicle and arrested.

A 58-year-old and a 41-year-old man are charged with assault and have been released on a promise to appear in court.

The victim of the assault was transported to hospital with swelling and bruising to her face. The 30-year-old is charged with robbery and has been released on the promise to appear in court.
