The so-called sandal wearing bandit has been apprehended by Windsor police.
Officers say they were able to locate the suspect as result of several tips they received from the public. John Alexander Zdonek is charged with robbery, robbery with a weapon, two counts of having face masked with intent to commit an indictable offence, and possession of a weapon for committing an offence.
Police say the 26-year-old is responsible for two robberies on Tuesday, one at the Erie Daily Convenience and the other at a Wyandotte Street East Tim Horton’s.
Officers say surveillance video and witness description put Zdonek at the scene of both robberies, even though the suspects face was covered for one of them.
