After a month on the picket lines, CUPE says Essex County library workers need help now more than ever.

Union members and supporters staged a rally and food drive for CUPE 2974 in front of Essex Library on Thursday.

The union says workers are fighting deep concessions, including the claw back of more than half of their existing sick time.

Members are holding strong, says CUPE.

The rally included Unifor, IBEW, LLC, WUFA, and other unions.

Unifor's past president Ken Lewenza is challenging Essex County Council to bargain with the library workers, who have been on strike since June 25.
