A missing parrot has been returned home after going missing Friday.

According to Corbret’s Pet Shop, a male customer walked out of the store with the valuable bird under his coat. Owners say police were able to find out that the man called a taxi on Turner Road thanks to surveillance video.

Police say they were able to track the taxi’s destination with the use of GPS. Officers attended a residence near Windsor Regional Hospital, where a man told them he didn't have the bird, but he might know where to find it.

Late Tuesday morning a female stranger brought the bird back to the store.

No questions asked, and no charges laid.

Corbret's says the red wing parrot appears in good health.
