The driver and lone occupant of the Chevrolet, 54-year-old Gerald Decoste, of Essex, was arrested at the scene.

He has been charged with two counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and two counts of driving a motor vehicle in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol causing death.

The intersection was closed for several hours as the OPP's Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) completed their investigation.
