Fraud charges laid after suspects turn themselves in

A pair of fraud suspects have turned themselves in to police in Chatham-Kent.

Just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, a man and a woman walked into police headquarters and turned themselves in.

According to police, the pair were wanted following a March 21 fraud investigation that happened in Orford Township.

The two people were arrested and released with condition and a future court date in May.

A 19-year-old woman from Watford is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, 22 counts of uttering forged documents, and 22 counts of fraud under $5,000.

A 23-year-old man from Watford is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, 27 counts of uttering forged documents, and 27 counts of fraud under $5,000.
