It’s a mayor’s debate with a social media twist.

To attract the social media generation into this fall’s municipal election, YKNOT Windsor-Essex, along with several other organizations are putting on the #VoteNowVoteThen mayoral debate.

Starting at 6 p.m. at The Foundry Pub in downtown Windsor, 11 of the city’s 12 mayoral candidates will face off in the debate. The only candidate to not commit to Wednesday night’s event is Bruce Martin.

The twist to the debate is that the audience will be polled before, during and after, on who they want to see as the mayor of the City of Windsor. The three phases of the anonymous poll will show the effectiveness the candidates are having, and whether anyone in the audience has swayed on their opinion.

The municipal election takes place on Oct. 27.
