Amherstburg police have arrested a 19-year-old man after a rash of vehicle and garage break-ins.
Police say plainclothes officers saw him near the intersection of Richmond Street and Boardwalk, known as the Monoply subdivision, and arrested him at about 3 a.m. on Friday.
Officers say he was entering several driveways and on Richmond attempting entry into vehicles. He was exiting a driveway on Boardwalk.
Upon arrest, the male was found in possession of alcohol and assorted currency, police say.
Investigation revealed the alcohol was stolen from a home in the 400 block of Richmond Street.
The 19-year-old, a McGregor resident, was charged with theft, possession of stolen property and prowling at night.
He will attend provincial court on Sept. 17.
Amherstburg police are continuing the investigation and determine if more charges are warranted.
