A 30-year-old London man has been charged with attempted murder after a drive-by shooting on Howard Avenue, say police.
On Sept. 10, Windsor police released video that captured a shooting incident that took place in the area of Howard Avenue and Erie Street a day earlier.
Police recovered both vehicles involved and identified persons of interest. An arrest warrant was issued for the alleged shooter in the incident who fired from the passenger seat of a green Toyota.
Durham police notified Windsor police on Monday that they arrested the suspect sometime before 7 p.m.
Detectives from Windsor and Durham and took custody of the accused. He was transported back to Windsor and appeared in court yesterday.
Alekesji Guzhavin, 30, of London is charged with two counts of attempt murder, discharge firearm with intent to wound, possess regulated firearm with ammunition, occupy motor vehicle with firearm, careless use of a firearm, contravene firearms regulation, point firearm, four counts of possession of prohibited ammunition, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a restricted firearm, and four counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited.
