John Paterson has been re-elected in Leamington.
According to the town’s unofficial results late Monday night, Paterson secured his seat with 5,273 votes. Former deputy mayor Charlie Wright was Paterson’s lone opponent, coming in with 1,826.
The town’s deputy mayor’s seat went acclaimed to Hilda MacDonald, with no one challenging here for the position.
On council, Rick Atkin, John Hammond, John Jacobs, Larry Verbeke and Tim Wilkinson are the unofficial winners.
Results in the town were originally expected to be delivered shortly after polls closed at 8 p.m., but didn’t come through until after 11 p.m. It’s not clear what caused the delay.
