Two Lakeshore people are facing fraud charges after allegedly selling six dump trucks and then reporting them as stolen.

In June 2015, US Customs stopped a Windsor truck driver who was importing vehicles into the United States.

Police say one of the vehicles being imported was found to have been reported stolen by a Windsor trucking company.

An investigation revealed that the company allegedly sold the vehicle to another trucking company in Essex County then reported the vehicle as being stolen.

In total, officers identified six dump trucks and one trailer that were allegedly sold to another trucking company and then reported as being stolen.

Police say four of those vehicles were being leased at the time they were sold.  The two other trucks and the trailer that were sold then reported as being stolen also allowed the company to fraudulently receive insurance payouts, according to police.

The total loss suffered by the victims exceeded $375, 000.

Gurfathe Kooner, a 30-year-old man from Lakeshore is wanted for four counts of fraud over $5,000.

Harjit Kooner, 33, from Lakeshore is charged with public mischief and two counts of uttering forged documents.

Harjit Kooner turned herself in, but Gurfathe Kooner is still at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
