A 27-year-old Lakeshore man is facing charges after police say he got into an argument with another man, hit him with his vehicle and left the scene.

OPP say it took place around 1:10 a.m. on Saturday in Lakeshore.

Police say the accused and the victim were walking with their own groups of friends when a verbal confrontation took place between people in both groups.

Chad Landriault of Lakeshore got into his vehicle and drove towards one of the groups of people. Police say he struck a 22-year-old man from Quebec City and fled the scene in his vehicle.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Landriault was arrested a short time later. He is charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

He was released and will be appearing in court on Aug. 26 in Windsor.
