While much attention for the Windsor-Tecumseh byelection has been placed on the Liberal, NDP, and PC candidates, there are others vying for the provincial post.
Adam Wright is the Green Party candidate, Lee Watson is the Family Coalition candidate, Dan Dominato is the Libertarian candidate and Andrew Brannan is the Freedom candidate.
Watson's great aunt was the first female cabinet minister in Canada.
“We're re-establishing ourselves in Windsor-Essex County and Ontario as a whole and so there is a certain amount of energy," says Watson.
Meanwhile, community garden enthusiast and farmer's market volunteer Wright wants to focus on long term sustainable jobs by reducing taxes for small and medium sized businesses.
“It seems that there are a lot of people that aren't happy with the main three party politics," says Wright.
Freedom party candidate Brannan doesn't live near the Windsor-Tecumseh riding, but says it's going well.
“I consider myself more the political pioneer," says Brannan.
The parachute candidate says the time he does spend in Windsor and Tecumseh is the time he gets to connect with people through word of mouth.
“Talking to people on the street they obviously wonder what the heck are you doing here and simply it's to provide another option actually,” says Brannan. “The only other real alternative to all the other parties."
