The elderly victim involved in a vicious attack last week has improved in hospital.
The 85-year-old woman has been downgraded from critical condition to serious. She remains at Windsor Regional Hospital.
Windsor police say she was allegedly attacked with a hammer last Thursday at her home in the 900 hundred block of Reedmere Road. Damian Hawley, 54, is charged with attempted murder,aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
Hawley remains in custody until his next court appearance on Monday.
