The City of Windsor has issued a reminder about hard-sided garbage containers, now that the bylaw has entered its third week.

The city is asking residents not to question or complain to garbage collectors if their trash wasn’t picked up.  Instead, they’re asking residents to contact 311, so they can track inquiries and send the appropriate staff for a follow-up.

Residents are also asked not to exceed the weight requirements for containers or allow them to overflow.

The trash cans must have handles, a water-tight lid and a capacity under 125 litres. Otherwise a pail with wheels and capacity over 125 litres can be used.

More information on the new garbage bylaw is available on the City of Windsor website.
