A Chatham man is facing charges following two complaints that he impersonated a police officer.
On Jan. 14, Chatham-Kent police received complaint from a Wallaceburg couple, after they purchased a set of speakers from a Kijiji ad.
When they met with the seller to make the exchange, he presented himself as a police officer, wearing a law enforcement style jacket with shoulder flashes.
The next day on Jan. 15, police received a complaint of a man attending a local business the week prior attempting to sell speakers, while wearing a law enforcement style jacket.
Police say it was the same man from both incidents.
A search warrant was executed at a Chatham home and a 46 year old man was charged with Impersonating a Peace Officer.
Police discovered the alleged jacket inside the home.
He was released with a future court date.
