A Belle River couple is celebrating after winning $500,000 in the Lotto Max MaxMillions.
Jeffery and Natalie Boyle of Belle River won the money in the March 18 draw, according to the OLG.
“It’s the luck of the Irish,” said Jeffery Boyle, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where the couple picked up their winnings. “Seventeen is my luck number and we purchased our winning ticket on St. Patrick’s Day.”
Natalie Boyle said she was speaking with her mom on the phone when Jeffery arrived with the good news.
“He was pale and he told me to hang up the phone. He said, ‘I think we just won a half a million dollars.’ I screamed and jumped around,” says Natalie Boyle. “Our two young kids started to copy me.”
The couple plans to save for their children’s education, buy a van and pay off their mortgage.
“We feel very happy and relieved,” says the couple. “This takes a lot of stress away. Winning the lottery is unbelievable.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Wildwood Drive in Windsor.
