Essex County OPP are investigating an armed robbery outside the Shoppers Drug Mart in Belle River on Friday afternoon.
Police say two female employees of the drug store were taking a deposit to the bank when they were robbed by a male holding a knift around 1:30 p.m.
He reportedly grabbed the deposit bag from one of the women, and in doing so pushed the other the ground. Neither of the women were injured.
The suspect fled in a black Mazda and was last seen driving eastbound on Notre Dame Avenue.
The suspect is described as being in his early 20s, 5’5” tall with dark hair and wearing a blue shirt and black pants.
Police are looking for a black Mazda with Ontario licence plates BMJX 556.
Anyone who comes across this vehicle is asked not to touch it in any manner and to contact police immediately.
