The search is on for a sandal wearing bandit, following two overnight robberies.

The first happened around 9:55 p.m. at the Erie Daily Convenience located in 1000 block of Erie Street East. Police say a man brandished a knife and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A K9 unit checked the area, but a search turned up nothing.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6' tall, 200 pounds, wearing black shorts, black sandals a grey Under Armour shirt with black long sleeves.

Officers were later dispatched to the Tim Horton’s at Wyandotte Street East and Walker Road just at around 1:30 a.m. His head was covered with a purple or pink coloured t-shirt or bandana. No weapon was seen.

He is described as white, 5’8” tall, with wide shoulders, wearing a grey t-shirt, dark shorts and dark sandals.

Police believe both robberies may have been conducted by the same suspect.
