The City of Windsor is not giving up hope to save the Canadian Club Brand Centre.
The historic centre on Riverside Drive is slated to close at the end of the year.
The company that owns the centre ended tours in March, but is honouring booked events until the end of 2017.
Downtown Windsor BIA Chair Larry Horwitz has expressed interest in purchasing the building and transforming it into an event centre.
Mayor Drew Dilkens tells CTV Windsor they are still talking to the owners about keeping the centre open.
“We’re on track and the conversations have been very good” says Dilkens.
In fact, the Mayor is hopeful the centre will remain open.
“Hopefully we will have a meaningful outcome in very short order” says Dilkens.
The brand centre is a popular destination for tourists, and is one of the City's main wedding venues.
