A provincial fire marshal investigator has been requested following a residential explosion overnight.

Crews were called to 775 University Avenue East around midnight Friday morning.

Fire Spokesperson, John Lee, says no one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Lee says a police officer is keeping an eye on the scene until the investigator arrives.

There is no word on a cause and the damage is still being assessed.
