The Tour di Via Italia cycling race is getting some help from the City of Windsor.
Council agreed on Monday to waive $1,300 in fees.
“I agree with the approach that we revisit the policy,” says Councillor Bill Marra. “I think we need a sustainable policy in place so that these folks know on an annual bases where they stand with support from the city.”
This year will mark the 56th annual race along Erie Street on Labour Day weekend.
Organizers hope to make this a North American event within the next couple years.
