Almaguin Highlands OPP say a 15-year-old girl from Tecumseh was seriously hurt after a snowmobile collision in northeastern Ontario.

Officers were called to a single snowmobile crash on Saturday at about 2 p.m.

The 15-year-old female driver was travelling north when she lost control of her snowmobile and struck a tree, say police.

The collision occurred on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (OFSC) trail C103D in the Township of McMurrich/Monteith, near Parry Sound.

The driver was airlifted by Orange Air Ambulance to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
