Windsor and Essex County Star Wars fans are being asked to used common sense when dressing up for the show tonight.

Many have been waiting for months for the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

While costumes are not entirely discouraged, general manager at Lakeshore Cinema Gina Facca says they are hoping patrons don’t go overboard with replica weapons or overly large props.

She says if someone shows up with a replica weapon, they’ll be asked to leave them at the front box office for the duration of the show.

They are also reminding people that the theatre will be packed and likely hot. Any costumes should be contained to their seat.

Facca says extra security will be on site just as a precaution.
