HALIFAX - A preliminary hearing for two people accused in the slaying of Loretta Saunders has been adjourned until next Friday, when a judge will rule whether the case should proceed to trial.
The Crown and lawyers for the accused presented their final arguments today in provincial court in Halifax.
Police have charged 26-year-old Blake Leggette and his 28-year-old girlfriend Victoria Henneberry with first-degree murder in the university student's death.
The 26-year-old Inuit woman from Labrador was reported missing from her Halifax apartment in February.
Her body was found in a wooded area off the Trans-Canada Highway in New Brunswick about two weeks later.
More than a dozen of Saunders's family members and loved ones, some wearing T-shirts with a photo of the woman, attended the week-long preliminary hearing.
Evidence presented at the hearing is banned from publication.
