Windsor police have nabbed two suspects wanted for a mini crime spree Wednesday morning.

According to police, officers were called to the Mac’s Convenience store at 295 Strabane Ave. around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday for a reported robbery.

The investigation alleges that a man entered the store brandishing a handgun at the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect then fled.

A short time later, police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Albert Road, where a yellow Ford Mustang crashed into two parked cars. Police say a witness observed a man exit the car and flee the scene.

Officers say the Mustang was reported stolen Tuesday. Police say their investigation revealed footprints in the area of the 1000 block of Hickory Road, where officers believe to have found the stolen property and a flare gun.

While still investigating the Mac’s robbery, officers received a break-in call at Checker Industrial in the 3300 block of Wyandotte Street East. Upon arriving, two men allegedly attempted to flee the scene and after a brief foot chase were arrested.

Police say the two were removing sections of aluminum rails.

Peter Aston, 48, is charged with theft.

William Darrow, 35, faces several charges including robbery with an offensive weapon and possession of stolen property obtained by a crime.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
