A hearing by the Ontario Municipal Board is underway to decide the future of proposed a big box development near Ojibway Park.

The hearing started in Windsor city council chambers on Monday at 12 p.m.

Coco Group is looking to develop the area near Sprucewood Avenue and Matchette Road.

A group called Save Ojibway is fighting to stop the development.

A spokesperson for Save Ojibway says the developer challenged some of issues the group wanted to bring to the hearing.

Nancy Pancheshan says a judge ruled the hearing won't deal with issues concerning the impact the store will have on the water table and issues of lighting.

However the group can present its evidence on the impact of added littering and traffic.
